As part of a series of environmental learning experiences, participants will join multiple guided tours focused on waste management and natural resource conservation throughout the CNMI. These hands-on tours offer valuable insights into the region’s environmental challenges and highlight the importance of collaborative efforts in preserving our natural resources.

Waste Tour

Participants will be exploring the evolution of waste management through site visits including:
A History of a Land Repurposed Puerto Rico Dump to Peace Park
Department of Public Works Transfer Station
Department of Public Works Marpi Landfill
Typhoon Yutu Debris Waste Reduction Operation & Management

Water & Natural Resources Tour

This tour emphasizes ecosystem preservation and community involvement:

Mangrove Planting - American Memorial Park
Shoreline Monitoring Micro Beach
Beach Clean-up (Tank Beach)

Natural Resources Field Trip

Participants will be learning sustainable practices for waste reuse:
Managing Food Waste Through Piggeries

Conservation Site Visit

Showcasing marine conservation efforts and the island’s ecological significance:

Tinian Island Tour

Highlighting agroforestry, the integration of trees and shrubs in farming, alongside the air curtain burner for efficient wood waste disposal.
