TRAINING: Guam’s Zero Waste Master Plan

Sabrina Cruz Sablan, GEPA

Sabrina Cruz-Sablan is a Special Projects Coordinator with the Guam Environmental Protection Agency (Guam EPA) and  her responsibilities include  planning, developing, implementing and monitoring activities associated with recycling, sustainability and zero waste on Guam. For over 15 years, Guam has benefited from Sabrina’s  tenure as Guam EPA’s de facto recycling officer with the Agency’s Solid Waste Management Program through her assistance in developing policy, grant awards, recycling data measurement  collection and outreach.  Sabrina’s work in these areas have furthered Guam’s efforts to promote recycling, waste reduction, and sustain businesses and organizations which cross promote agency initiatives in sustainability and zero waste.

Sabrina has held certifications in the solid waste industry in managing recycling waste systems and embodies the type of advocacy required to push our island towards   progressive policy to ensure that our solid waste and sustainability goals are met.   Sabrina  has also led our outreach efforts on the regional and international stage though venues at the Micronesia Island Forum, the Association of State And Territorial Solid Waste Management Officials, and the Pacific Islands Environment Conference, highlighting our collaboration with EPA Region 9, America Recycles Day, Guam’s Island-wide Environmental Cleanup Program and Recycling Industry Economic Stimulus Program.
